Manuel Luís Cochofel's work is masterful in creating movement, in establishing immediate links with the world through bodies and sensations. It develops the richness of our perceptions, passing through the fabric of our daily lives and the need for its representation. Architectural details, symbols of human work, legs without a body, anonymous yet therefore universal, or the reduction of a landscape to simple and dominant lines, as if writing were superimposed on the image, are, above all, vestiges of a form of writing that results from the apprehension of the essence of what is represented.

Manuel Luís Cochofel's journey is precisely that of fixing proportions in order to then relax them. This occurs when we compare the scale of a building with that of a person, or when we can imagine a cloud almost touching a roof.

Through the artist's work, in its diverse approaches to reality, using color or surrendering to black and white, time exists. This is the great condition of the photographer: to exist in time and to make others exist within it.
