Souvenirs from Europe

Initiated in 2013, ‘Souvenirs from Europe’ is a project by the Portuguese publisher GHOST. It brings together a series of posters designed by artists (photographers, designers, performers, visual artists) who live and work in Europe. They were asked to create a political souvenir of our time, or to choose a “protest object” (just as protest songs existed in the 1960s and 70s). The final result takes the form of a portable exhibition (easily transportable in cardboard tubes) that is proposed and sent to art spaces (galleries, theaters, bookstores) in Europe.

The project has already been presented in Brussels, Athens, Paris, Kiev, Lisbon, Lille, Guimarães, and Lagos. It is currently on display at the Galician Center for Contemporary Art in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), the College of Arts in Coimbra, and the LENDROIT Gallery in Rennes (France). It will be presented at the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Berlin, Germany) in September 2015, and at Maus Hábitos (Porto) in January 2016.
