Portugal ao Dobrar da Esquina
Carmo RosaThe Center for Contemporary Culture of the Torres Vedras Cooperativa de Comunicação e Cultura will inaugurate, on January 10th, 2004 at 5 PM, a photography exhibition by photographer Carmo da Rosa, entitled “Portugal Around the Corner”.
The exhibition consists of 21 color photographs, taken by the author in Portugal between 1980 and 2003.

Born in Agadir, Morocco in 1951, photographer Carmo da Rosa studied photography at the SCHOOL VOOR FOTOGRAFIE in The Hague, Netherlands, between 1982 and 1987, beginning his professional career in 1988.
He worked as a freelancer for various newspapers, publishers, ministries, and the Hague City Council.
At the request of an educational institution of the Hague Chamber of Commerce, he carried out several projects in Morocco and Turkey during 1994/95.
In 1998, at the request of the Portuguese Photography Centre, he carried out a photographic survey of the village of Luz, as part of the Alqueva dam project.
The Portuguese Photography Centre invited him to participate in an international group exhibition in 1999 on the theme of Gypsies.
In May 2000, he was invited by the Camões Institute to join a group of 15 national photographers for the project "15 x 15 A LOOK AT EUROPE", exhibiting photographs about Austria.
