Jaime Silva

Painting
25.04.1986 — 04.05.1986

Marking a distinct place in national contemporary art, Jaime Silva's work is a painting that, as he himself defines it, is "made in depth," that is, an expression of the fullness of a plastic writing, which appears to the eyes of the viewer as an authentic work. Because this plastic discourse, valued for its blend of lyrical figuration and abstract expressionism, has contemplated from the beginning what was purest and most intact in the painter's imagination: the ancestral violence of those who live on the abrupt banks of the Douro River!
