Francisco Lemos e Manuela Ramalho

(…) It will be interesting to see how a traditional technique with distinctly popular roots can be articulated with an “urban” vision, culturally rooted in a city perspective, for a minimally informed audience.

Francisco Lemos' work has, fortunately, been able to unlock certain situations, both internally, with the extraordinary experience developed with the young disabled people of A.P.E.C.I., and with the international recognition from the Italian Center for World Economic Promotion, which awarded “Agrilemos” the European Work Oscar 1986.

The Communication and Culture Cooperative and the Nova Gallery sincerely hope to create the appropriate involvement so that the public of Torres Vedras can perceive, enjoy, and appreciate the very unique quality of “Agrilemos'” work.

This is, in our understanding, another step on a path we want to share with the city, with all those for whom sensitivity is not a forgotten value—with our friends.

It is also a step in its own time, which, as we say in the Catalogue of the inaugural Exhibition of this Gallery, urgently needs to be developed: that of the exercise of culture, as an act of pleasure and committed pleasure.

We sincerely hope that the ceramic pieces by Francisco Lemos and Manuela Ramalho will not be enough to meet the demand!
