Analog Photography
Art Date with Joana MariaOn May 9, 2026, the Center for Contemporary Culture 13 hosted another edition of ART DATE, a meeting dedicated to the technical exploration of the photogram, an analog photography technique without a camera, carried out directly in the darkroom using photographic paper and an enlarger.
For three hours, between 3 pm and 6 pm, participants were invited to explore cameraless photography as an intuitive and experimental gesture, using chemicals, objects, materials, and exposure times, from which unique images are revealed.
This workshop is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a photographic darkroom, develop technical skills in analogue photography, experiment with a different creative process, and work directly with chemicals, materials, and light in a controlled environment. No previous darkroom experience is required, and the workshop is suitable both for beginners and for those who already have some experience and want to deepen their practice.
The workshop includes access to the darkroom, photographic paper, chemicals, use of the enlarger, and technical guidance throughout the entire session.
