The challenge of experiencing a philosophical concept can be explored in the exhibition “Becoming.” In these images, Brazilian photographer Wanderson Alves attempts to capture, in the simple moments of life, how relevant the concept of “becoming” remains, as proposed by the Father of Dialectics, Heraclitus of Ephesus, around 500 BC: “Everything flows and nothing remains, everything takes shape and nothing remains fixed. You cannot step into the same river twice, for other waters, and still others, will flow.”

For Wanderson, the beauty of life “as it is” has escaped our eyes: “The perception of our own lives has suffered the reductionism of advertising, and our gaze in the mirror no longer reveals us with depth…”

Wanderson's photographs attempt to capture precisely this real and dense, light and profound life. “It would be wonderful if, from this experimentation, people could look at their lives again, as they truly are, and thus find their beauty.”
