The journey we undertake through the territories we inhabit is defined by visual references of a natural, artificial, or both nature. The singular photographic language dissipates before the multiplicity of records and memories created by viewers about the same record, making the neighboring content of each scene familiar. When these ambiguous densities previously occupied by this specimen [of cycads] fade, they give way to the diligences of invisibility that preserve the existence of the humanly observable void.
