In this body of work, João Paulo Barrinha reveals himself, simultaneously unveiling a set of artistic possibilities and languages ​​that correspond to two distinct functions: to interrogate and to affirm. (…) the materialization of a thought, a permanent discursive (re)construction, revealing a guttural appeal to the spectator's own imagination.

“With Mandatory Juice | Images & Writings” reveals itself as both a technical and aesthetic exercise, and a set of micro-narratives that, finding their meaning in a symbiotic relationship of images, encompass a permanent dialogical game between medium and message, transmuting into true “micro-climates of the imagination”. Photography, video, installation, and catalog assert themselves, in this work, as distinct elements; fragmentary pieces of a core conceptualization that finds in the use of the image an extension of its expression.
